House of Reps Member, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Installed as Seriki Adinni of Yewaland


Member  representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), was on Saturday installed as the Seriki Adinni of Yewaland by the League of Imams and Alfas.

The honour, conferred in recognition of his contributions to faith and community, drew dignitaries from across political, religious, and traditional spheres.

In his address, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented a by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, described the honour as both “timely and richly deserving.”

According to him 'GNI as he is fondly called has consistently exemplified humility, integrity, discipline and strength that command respect across all works of life both at the National Assembly, private enterprise and within the Muslim Umar'.   

"Hon. Isiaka has remained a dignified ambassador of Imeko, Yewaland and Ogun West, principled and always committed to the progress of his people. 

"As Seriki Adinni I have no doubt that you will bring the same quality to strengthen the unity and spiritual growth of the yewa muslim community" he said  

While saying the honour was not just a recognition of personal merit but rather a call to duty and deeper service, he implored him to embrace it wholeheartedly with Grace and sincerity.

Governor Abiodun also commended his wife and families for their sacrifice and steadfast support, saying behind every effective leader was a family that believes, support and shares with the journey.

In his sermon, Sheik Tajudeen Olaotan, said Seriki was one of the biggest Islamic title and the turbaning of Hon. Isiaka was divine, charging him to brace up for the task ahead, be determined and focus, as there was no position without challenges. 

He also urged the new Seriki to work towards uniting Umar in Yewaland, embrace human capital development, by empowering Yewa people educationally, build infrastructural development particularly renovation and building of Mosques, empowering the Imams as custodians of religion.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka expressed deep gratitude to the League of Imams and Alfas of Yewaland for the honour, which he described as rich in spiritual significance and historical depth.
“Titles may decorate a person, but it is service that dignifies the title,” he stated. “I pledge to lead by example in faith, support the Ummah in truth, and recommit myself to the advancement of Islam in our region.”

The Lawmaker paid  tribute to the late Alhaja Khadijah Kuburah Abike Adebisi Elegbede Edionsere, popularly known as “Cash Madam,” acknowledging her instrumental role in making the day possible.

 He described her as a woman of courage and loyalty whose memory remains a blessing to the community.

Hon. Isiaka emphasized that faith must reflect in leadership, guided by the core principles of Islam ,truth, justice, compassion, and accountability.

“We are called to live out this faith with clarity of purpose, courage of conviction, and consistency of character. Almighty Allah commands us to uphold His Oneness and to follow the noble path of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whose entire life was a perfect balance of prayer, and purpose, of devotion and duty.”
He pledged to uphold the responsibilities that come with his new title and to serve as a unifying force for the Muslim Ummah in Yewaland.

The Lawmaker  lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its performance in the last two years

“The President has done very well, we are not where we used to be, his two years has put us on the path of progress we all need to support that” he said.

Dignitaries present were, House of Representatives members, Religious leaders, Traditional rulers among others.
