The Youth Assembly, led by its chairman, Ambassador Habeeb Whyte disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday.
Whyte praised the governor for his commitment to promote the rich cultural heritage of the state.
The film, which tells the story of the legendary Ogun State hero, Lisabi Agbogbon Akala, has been produced by renowned filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji.
Recall that Governor Abiodun hosted Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe, where he reiterated his support for the project.
Ambassador Whyte commended the governor's foresight and passion for culture and entertainment.
He noted that the governor's support in creation of a film village and resort centre in Abeokuta would not only serve the entertainment industry but also boost tourism in Ogun State.
His words"Governor Abiodun has shown once again that he is a true visionary leader, one who understands the power of storytelling in preserving and promoting our culture," he said.
The Ogun Youth Assembly chairman also praised the governor’s commitment to ensure that the state’s heroes are celebrated within their own homeland.
Ambassador Whyte emphasized that the proposed film village by Lateef Adedimeji would attract filmmakers and creatives from across the country, making Ogun a hub for cultural storytelling and creative arts.
Whyte further applauded the collaboration between the state government and creative professionals, emphasizing the impact it would have on the economy.
"The film industry is a powerful tool for employment and youth engagement. By supporting this initiative, the governor is directly contributing to job creation and skill development for the youth," Whyte added.
The Chairman of the Ogun Youth Assembly, Amb Habeeb Whyte, and renowned filmmaker, Lateef Adedimeji, have been revealed to share a unique bond as members of the prestigious Royal Court Ife Kingdom.
Both distinguished individuals were among the first 100 recipients of the royal award presented by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, in 2019.
