Ogun Monarch Hails Bosun Tijani Over Tech Hub Project, Seeks More Investment in Southwest

The Towulade of Owu Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran over the weekend commended the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Olatunbosun Tijani, for the ongoing ICT tech hub project at DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Ogun State.

The monarch described the initiative as a laudable intervention capable of equipping young people with relevant digital skills, particularly in computer technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Oba Adediran urged the minister to extend more of such technology-driven projects to other parts of the South-West, stressing that increased investment in digital education would empower young people and prepare them for opportunities in the emerging technology industry.
“I just want to commend Bosun Tijani for the ongoing tech hub project at DS Adegbenro Polytechnic. It is a commendable initiative that will help build the capacity of our young people in computer technology and Artificial Intelligence,” the monarch said.

The traditional ruler also disclosed that Tijani had indicated plans to establish an AI-related industry in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, where young people would receive training and acquire practical knowledge in Artificial Intelligence.

According to him, the proposed establishment would further strengthen the technological capacity of youths in the state and create opportunities for them to participate in the rapidly expanding digital economy.

“I want to encourage him to do more, particularly across the South-West, so that our youths can develop the necessary skills to compete globally,” Oba Adediran added.
He urged the minister to do more for the benefit of Ogun youths during his tenure at the federal level, noting that his contributions to youth development could strengthen calls for him to take up a higher political responsibility in the state.

Oba Adediran said it might be difficult for Tijani to turn down the offer of Ogun youths to become governor of the state when the opportunity arose, particularly after completing his national assignments.

“He is a rising star whom Ogun youths will embrace at the appropriate time after his national responsibilities. I believe that, given his contributions and capacity, it will be difficult for him to reject the call of the youths to serve Ogun State as governor when the time comes,” Towulade said.

The monarch maintained that sustained government investment in technology education and digital infrastructure remained essential to youth development, innovation and economic growth.
