A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Hon. Babatunde Tella, has felicitated with former Governor of Ogun State and elder statesman, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on his 87th birthday, describing him as one of Nigeria’s most distinguished democrats and an enduring symbol of visionary leadership.
In a congratulatory message made available to journalists on Wednesday, Tella praised the former governor for his remarkable contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Ogun State and Nigeria, noting that Osoba’s legacy continues to inspire generations of leaders across the country.
The lawmaker said Osoba’s unwavering commitment to democracy, good governance and the progress of the people has earned him a place in the nation’s history, adding that his wealth of experience and selfless service remain invaluable to the country’s democratic journey.
“Chief Olusegun Osoba is a statesman of exceptional character whose contributions to the growth of Ogun State and the strengthening of Nigeria’s democracy cannot be overstated.
“At 87, he remains a beacon of wisdom, courage and integrity whose life continues to inspire many of us in public service.”
Tella also acknowledged Osoba’s role in mentoring young politicians and providing purposeful leadership within the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing him as a father figure whose counsel has continued to promote peace, unity and stability within the party.
“His commitment to nurturing future leaders and preserving the ideals of democratic governance is one of his greatest legacies. We are fortunate to have a leader of his stature whose guidance continues to shape the political landscape of Ogun State and beyond,” he added.
The lawmaker prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the elder statesman, asking for sound health, strength and many more years of impactful service to the nation.
