In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ajayi dismissed attempts to link her with the political decision of her former aide, stressing that she neither approved nor had prior knowledge of his defection. She maintained that her political allegiance remains firmly rooted in the APC.
According to the Deputy Speaker, every Nigerian has the constitutional right to freedom of political association, but such individual choices should not be misrepresented as the position of others.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state categorically that the decision of the said Personal Assistant to leave the APC for the PDP was taken entirely on his own, as a full grown adult without my knowledge, consultation, consent, approval, or endorsement”she said.
Ajayi reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the ruling APC, noting that she remains a loyal stakeholder dedicated to advancing the party’s ideals and developmental agenda in Ogun State.
She also reiterated her support for the Ogun West governorship aspiration, describing it as a just and equitable project deserving the backing of all well-meaning residents of the state.
“My political philosophy, loyalty, and commitment remain unchanged, and I will continue to work diligently and relentlessly in the interest of the people of Ogun State; while supporting every legitimate effort towards the actualization of the Ogun West Governorship Agenda as represented by our amiable candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi”.
The Deputy Speaker specifically restated her support for Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, expressing confidence in his governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 general election.
She also commended Gov. Dapo Abiodun for his leadership of the state and pledged continued collaboration with party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the APC ahead of the polls.
Ajayi appealed to party members, political associates, supporters and the media to disregard what she described as misleading insinuations connecting her to the defection of her former aide, emphasizing that her political philosophy and commitment remain unchanged.m
“I therefore urge the general public, especially my political associates, APC party faithfuls, my esteemed supporters, and the media to disregard any unfounded rumour, insinuation, speculation, or misinformation linking the personal decision of the said former Personal Assistant to my political career, principles, or future political engagements” she said .
She assured APC faithful that she would continue to work diligently for the growth of the party and the development of Ogun State while supporting initiatives that would guarantee electoral success for the APC in the 2027 general election.
