APC Apex Leaders In Abeokuta North LG Endorse Babatunde Tella for Second Term

 Apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government have unanimously endorsed the member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Babatunde Opeolu Tella, for a second term in office.

The endorsement, which took place in Abeokuta on Wednesday at a well-attended stakeholders’ gathering, drew party elders, ward executives, council officials, and key stakeholders, signalling renewed unity and reconciliation within the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
 Party leaders present were: Engineer Adekunle Adeshina, Hon Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi, Hon. Habeeb Ajayi, Engr. Seeni Ayorinde , Hon. Wale Bello, Hon. Ifekayode Akinbode, Hon. Olayiwola Ojodu , members of the Local Executive Committee, ward chairmen, and serving council officials among others.

The event also witnessed a strong show of unity as other aspirants stepped aside to endorse Tella. Hon. Olamilekan Tajudeen Ishola Hon. Tunde Bayewunmi, and Hon. Yisa “Omo Ade” affirmed their loyalty and threw their full support behind his second-term bid.
Their decision was described by party leaders as a demonstration of political maturity and commitment to party unity.

In their remarks, APC leaders emphasized the need for continuity and stability in governance, describing Tella as a committed party man with a track record of service.

“We believe strongly in continuity, experience, and stability. Hon. Tella has shown dedication to the growth of the party and development of Abeokuta North. He deserves the opportunity to continue the good work,” they said.
Responding to the endorsement, Hon. Tella expressed appreciation to the party leadership and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
“Today is a day of joy for me to appreciate the leaders and the people of Abeokuta North. As legislators, our primary responsibility is to make laws, and I am proud that we have contributed to 41 bills and motions either as sponsor or co-sponsor,” he said.

He also revealed that seven additional bills are currently listed, including one focused on agriculture.
“I thank the leaders for choosing me as the consensus candidate to represent them at the Ogun State House of Assembly for the second time,” he added.
In an emotional moment during his speech, Tella appealed for forgiveness from anyone he might have offended during his first tenure.

“As a human being and leader, I may have offended some people. I humbly ask for forgiveness from anyone who may have felt hurt in any way,” he said.

The event ended with renewed commitment from party stakeholders to work for the success of the APC in Abeokuta North, as supporters expressed optimism that the endorsement would strengthen the party and sustain development in the local government.
