The Deputy Coordinator of the City Boy Movement in Ogun State, Habeeb Whyte, has called on Nigerian youths to take a more active role in the nation’s political process, urging them to shun apathy and participate fully in democratic activities.
Whyte made the call on Friday in Abeokuta during the inauguration of the executives of the City Boy Movement in the state, an event which also featured the distribution of food palliatives to over 5,000 households across the 236 wards in Ogun State.
According to him, youth participation in governance and electoral processes is crucial to strengthening democracy and ensuring that their voices are heard in shaping the future of the country.
He noted that Nigerian youths must take advantage of the opportunities created within the political space to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Nigerian youths must shun apathy when it comes to political participation. They must come out to vote and be actively involved in our democratic process,” Whyte said.
He added that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown unprecedented commitment to youth development, creating programmes and reforms aimed at empowering young people across the country.
“It is clear to everyone that President Tinubu is working diligently to support the youth and create a better future for all. The youth must therefore come out in their millions to vote for him again in 2027 so that the ongoing economic reforms can be consolidated,” he stated.
He stressed that the gathering brought together Muslims and Christians, adding that the initiative was aimed at demonstrating the movement’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians and strengthening community support across the state.
