In a goodwill message released to commemorate the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration on Friday, Owolabi described the end of Ramadan as a period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and reflection for Muslims across the country.
He commended adherents of Islam for their dedication to fasting, prayers, and acts of charity, noting that such commitments contribute significantly to moral and social development.
Owolabi, however, urged Muslims not to abandon the good deeds observed during Ramadan, but to continue to uphold the values of compassion, tolerance, and generosity in their daily lives.
“I congratulate all Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast. This period has once again reminded us of the importance of sacrifice, discipline, and devotion to God,” he said.
The aspirant also called on Nigerians to be responsible in the discharge of their civic duties, emphasizing that national progress depends on the collective efforts of all citizens.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I urge Nigerians to remain responsible in their civic duties and to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our nation,” Owolabi added.
He further stressed that the spirit of Eid provides an opportunity to strengthen unity and foster peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.
“The essence of Eid is to promote love, unity, and understanding. We must use this opportunity to reinforce communal harmony and strengthen social cohesion across our country,” he stated.
Owolabi reiterated the need for continued sacrifice and commitment to nation-building, urging citizens to work together in pursuit of a greater and more prosperous Nigeria.
“Nation-building requires sacrifice from all of us. I encourage Nigerians, especially Muslim faithful, to continue to live in peace with one another and demonstrate love and understanding in all circumstances,” he said.
He wished Muslims a joyful Eid celebration, praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
