The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, has joined other stakeholders in celebrating Ogun State as it marks its 50th anniversary, describing the milestone as a testament to resilience, growth, and visionary leadership.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday, Alhaja Faidat praised the founding fathers of the state for laying a strong foundation that has continued to shape Ogun’s development across political, economic, and social sectors.
She commended the current administration under Governor Dapo Abiodun for sustaining progressive governance, citing notable achievements in infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, healthcare delivery, and industrial expansion as key drivers of the state’s transformation.
According to the APC chairperson, Abeokuta North has benefited significantly from recent government interventions, particularly in road rehabilitation, community development projects, and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents and strengthening grassroots governance.
Alhaja Faidat further reaffirmed the commitment of the APC in Abeokuta North to promoting unity, peace, and political stability, stressing that sustained collaboration between party leaders, government officials, and citizens remains vital for continued progress.
She urged residents, especially youths and women, to take pride in Ogun State’s heritage and actively contribute to its future by supporting policies and initiatives that foster innovation, economic growth, and social inclusion.
As Ogun State celebrates five decades of existence, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde expressed optimism that the next phase of the state’s journey will usher in greater prosperity, stronger institutions, and renewed opportunities for all citizens.
