Danielle Chambers’ Managing Partner, Motolani Oyedeji, Attends WIMBIZ 24th Annual Conference, Advocates for Women’s Empowerment

Women in Management, Business and Public Services (WIMBIZ), has been urged to focus more on the call towards actions in order to 'O.W.N' their stories and drive national prosperity.

This call was made at the just concluded 24th Annual Women Conference in Management, Business and Public Services (WIMBIZ) held last week, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The conference, also centered on the need for thousands of women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from across the globe to make a change in life. 

The two-day event, at the Eko Hotels & Suites, was a resounding success, centred around the powerful and resonant theme: "O.W.N: Own. Walk. Nurture."

Speaking at the event, the Chairperson, Hon. Justice Amina Augie (Rtd.), charged participants to view themselves as their sole competitors, advocating that the true contest is against personal fears and complacency, not against others. 

Hon. Augie, who is also a former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in her admonition, also urged women to own their authentic journeys, despite challenges. 

Also speaking, the Keynote Speaker, Arunma Otteh,

emphasised the critical role of women in national development, noting that Nigeria must achieve at least 10% GDP growth for a sustained period. 

Otteh, who is also the Chairperson, Royal African Society & Academic, University of Oxford, asserted that societies are more stable and economies more innovative when female leaders are at the decision table, citing women's effectiveness as better risk-takers. 

In her own remarks, the Executive Director, WIMBIZ, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, underscored that the O.W.N theme is a clarion call for women to embrace their power, walk their path with courage, and nurture others along the way; while the its Chairperson, Board of Trustees (BoT), Bisi Adeyemi, highlighted that the conference is a show of women's strength and resilience in their pursuit of leadership and influence.

However, emphasis has been made on the 24th WIMBIZ Annual Conference, to reaffirmed its position as a transformative platform, dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and advocating for women to excel and drive positive change across all sectors.

The conference came with networking, conclusion of deals and reuniting with colleagues and friends, among whom were; Managing Partner, Danielle Chambers, Motolani Oyedeji, who was able to rejuvenate through the conference and in high spirits of what the coming year have in store for her and her law practice.

National Reports also gathered that the conference were culminated in a strong mandate for collective action, stressing that increased women's participation in both public and private sector leadership is crucial to unlocking Nigeria's full development potential.
