Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Adebayo Aina, has expressed profound gratitude and renewed commitment to service as he was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Bobagunwa of Akinale by the Towulade of Owu Akinale on Saturday.
Speaking shortly after his installation, ACP Aina described the honour as a significant call to greater responsibility, noting that he is “very excited and elated” that the Akinale community and the entire Owu kingdom found him worthy of the revered title.
He commended President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in steering Nigeria through its developmental phase, despite challenges often magnified by misinformation.
According to him, “Nigeria is a developing country and development comes with a lot of vices, but our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is tackling it. I must tell you that what you hear in the media is not what is being portrayed.”
ACP Aina pledged to bring substantial value to Akinale through enhanced security, peacebuilding initiatives, and human capacity development.
He emphasized that his new role would further strengthen his resolve to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the community.
In his words, “I will be bringing a lot in terms of security, in terms of peace and reconciliation. Trust me, with me on board, there would be a lot of peace and capacity building, human development.”
He assured the people of Akinale of his dedication to continue the good works already initiated and to uphold the values associated with the title of Asiwaju Bobagunwa.
