Ogun Youth Assembly Hails Gov. Abiodun Over Approval of Court of Appeal in Abeokuta

The Chairman of the Ogun Youth Assembly, Ambassador Habeeb Whyte, has applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his relentless efforts that led to the approval of the establishment of a Court of Appeal in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Amb. Whyte disclosed this in a statement signed by him made available to newsmen on Tuesday.

He described the development as a landmark achievement, noting that it would not only deepen access to justice but also reinforce the state’s position as a hub of law, governance, and socio-economic progress.

You’ll recall that On Monday, Abiodun announced the Federal Government’s approval for the establishment of the Appeal Court in the state.

Whyte explained that the creation of a Court of Appeal division in Ogun would ease the burden of residents who previously had to travel long distances, particularly to Ibadan or Lagos, to pursue cases. According to him, this would save time, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of justice.

The Youth Assembly Chairman further stressed that the initiative reflects Governor Abiodun’s commitment to sustainable governance and to addressing the needs of the people beyond infrastructure and economic growth.

Whyte added that the presence of the appellate court in Abeokuta would also open up new opportunities in the legal profession, attract investment in the justice sector, and provide a boost to the state’s economy by creating jobs and ancillary services around the judiciary.

He pointed out that Ogun State, with its rich history as the cradle of many legal luminaries, deserves a Court of Appeal division, and praised the governor for working assiduously with relevant stakeholders to make it a reality.

His words “ the court of appeal approval is a victory not only for the government but also for the people, particularly the youth, who will benefit from increased access to justice, employment, and new opportunities in law-related fields.

“I call on residents of the state to continue supporting the government in its efforts to transform Ogun into one of the most progressive states in Nigeria.

“The governor’s achievements in governance, youth development, and infrastructure are proof of his people-centered leadership” he said.
