Ogun NUJ Scribe Bunmi Adigun, Amb. Habeeb Whyte Among Honourees for Southwest Legendary Awards 2025

The Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, and the Chairman of the Ogun Youth Assembly, Ambassador Habeeb Whyte, have been listed among distinguished personalities set to be honoured at the 7th edition of the prestigious Southwest Legendary Awards (SLA) 2025.


The CEO, DDMC Events, and convener of the awards, Prince Taiwo Gbadebo, stated this while briefing newsmen at the Official unveiling of distinguished awardees in Abeokuta, on Tuesday.

Gbadebo added that, the year 2025 edition tagged, “The King’s Edition”, will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at JM Royal Haven Event Centre, GRA, Sagamu, Ogun State, with a red carpet slated for 1pm.

He stressed that the awardees were selected through an open call for nominations, rigorous background checks, and verification of their exceptional achievements, adding that they represent excellence, dedication, and passion qualities that define true legends.

“What makes this Award distinct is our resolute commitment to credibility, ensuring it remains a true benchmark for measuring achievements and excellence in the Southwest region of Nigeria.”

“Over the years, the Southwest Legendary Awards has evolved into an iconic event. The 2025 edition, “The King’s Edition,” will be no exception—a celebration of the best of the best.

“This year’s edition, themed “The King’s Edition,” promises an unforgettable experience dedicated to recognizing and honoring individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to their industries and communities”, he said

Other awardees includes, Otunba (Dr) Adebola Akindele, Yeye Oba Bolaji Akinmulero, Hon. (Dr) Ola Oresanya, Adedimeji Lateef, Justone Homes, Tobi Flecher (Ofada Boy), Princess Adedolapo Adeyemi, and Popular Fuji musician Alhaji Sefiu Alao .

Others are, Antar Laniyan, Hon. Hammed Adebolu Sekere of Lagos, Akinyola Ayoola (Kamo State), Caleb Olayinka, Ayodeji Oluwasola, OTP Kitchen, Teniola Foundation, Wale Rasaq, Chief Adebayo Israel Adigun Olowe, Lawal Feyisara, DJ Glory, Zainab Agbaogun (Hejiwumi Akewi).

Meanwhile, the Commissioner Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Lagos State,
Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, is expected to chair the event
