This was disclosed during a press conference held in Orile Imo on Wednesday.
The youth leader (Olori Odo of Orile Imo General) Chief Jimoh Olorunsogo, said the entire youth population of Orile Imo stands against the plot to suspend the Asiwaju.
“We the youths of Orile Imo stand solidly behind Asiwaju. We do not want war or crisis, that is why we have called a meeting of all Baales to plead with them to take decisive steps to forestall crisis. We have also called you journalists to help us tell the government to wade in” Olorunsogo said.
Jimoh Olorunsogo was accompanied by his deputy, Lukman Ogunleye, alongside the youth of Idofin Odo, Kola Ogunseye, and several other young leaders from the community.
They dismissed the members of the Orile Imo Traditional Council, particularly Chief Isiaq A. Adesanya, the Balogun of Orile Imo who signed the suspension letter, as faceless.
News Channel reported that the Orile Imo Traditional Council, in a letter dated August 12, 2025, and signed by Chief Isiaq A. Adesanya, the Balogun of Orile Imo, announced the suspension of Asiwaju Olalekan Olakunle over allegations of gross misconduct, non-compliance and non recognition of the Orile Imo Land constituted authority.
However, in his response on Tuesday, Asiwaju Olalekan Olakunle dismissed the suspension, insisting that he remains the Asiwaju of Orile Imo as well as the Chairman of the Baale-in-Council in the community.
