The Deputy leader of the house and the Councillor representing Ward 8 in Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Waheed Akomolafe, has extended financial assistance to 21 residents of his ward to boost their small-scale businesses.
The gesture, which took place during a ward meeting at Lafenwa, Abeokuta, was described by party faithful as timely support, especially in the face of current economic challenges confronting residents.

Hon. Akomlolafe noted that the initiative was part of his desire to ll(;.:* 0. Z4eb1bqqIiqaqww2 we2w2w ssconstituents and ensure that grassroots development is not only felt in terms of infrastruc3eae3³àee3a9833eo3893eooeiture but also in the livelihood of the people.
According to him, supporting petty traders with little capital would go a long way in improving their means of livelihood, reducing dependence, and enhancing economic activity within the ward.
“I assured that more empowerment programmes would be rolled out in the coming months, with the aim of improving welfare and promoting unity within the ward” he said.
In his remarks at the meeting, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Ward Chairman, Alhaji Taofeek Agbogunleri, commended Hon. Akomolafe for prioritizing empowerment in addition to his legislative duties.
He emphasized that such gestures would strengthen the bond between leaders and the grassroots.
Agbogunleri urged party members and residents to seize the opportunity of the ongoing Independent National Elect thatoral Commission (INEC) voter registration exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He stressed that participation in the electoral process remains the strongest tool for shaping governance.
He noted that only registered voters can influence leadership decisions by exercising their civic rights during elections.
Beneficiaries expressed joy after receiving the cash support, lauded the Councillor for his continuous efforts to identify with the needs of his people. They described him as a leader who listens and act promptly to address pressing concerns.
They also prayed for the Councillor, pledging their continuous support for his administration and the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government.
