Omo-Ade Foundation Empowers Over 500 Residents in Abeokuta North LG



In a bold move to cushion the effects of economic hardship facing many Nigerians, the Omo-Ade Foundation has extended food and cash empowerment support to over 500 residents of Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Speaking at the programme on Thursday held at Ori-Omi Abeokuta , the founder and CEO of the foundation, Alhaji Ismaila Yisa Abebayo, said the initiative was born out of a desire to support the people during these trying times.

“There’s a lot going on in the country , the economy is not smiling. People are hungry, people are suffering,” he said. 
“We are reaching out in our little way to make a difference, starting with over 500 people here in Abeokuta North.”

Alhaji Abebayo emphasized that while the government is making efforts to stabilize the economy, grassroots communities continue to feel the brunt of the hardship, prompting the foundation to focus initially on food and cash support for immediate relief.
He added that the empowerment programme is just the beginning, with several other initiatives in the pipeline aimed at uplifting residents across the state.

Also speaking at the event, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Abeokuta North local government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, praised the foundation’s efforts for reaching out to the people of the local government in this trying times.
“Omo-Ade came to me and said he wanted to do empowerment for his ward, Ward 16,” she said. “I told him to extend it to the whole local government and he did. This is just his first step, more are still coming.”

Meanwhile the Chairman of Abeokuta North local government Hon. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo represented by the Supervisor for Water Resources and Environment, Hon. Luqman Adepegba commended the foundation for the empowerment programme.

“Today’s programme is fantastic, when you’re in a position to help people, you shouldn’t have to be begged. 
“We appreciate Omo-Ade Foundation for starting this, and we pray Almighty Allah continues to strengthen and bless him.”

Engineer Olaseni Ayorinde, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, also lauded the initiative, describing it as a thoughtful intervention that brings hope to the people.
“This is a good provision for the people. He’s helping in a difficult time, and that’s very kind of him,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the Councillor representing Ward 16 in Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Luqman Adeogun, lauded the generous efforts of Mr. Omoade, for initiating food and cash empowerment focused programme that benefits residents of the local government. 

“He told us he wants everyone in Abeokuta North to benefit from the programme, not just his own ward. That’s why he expanded the scope, and we commend him for that selfless decision,” Hon. Adeogun stated.

Beneficiaries of the programme expressed deep gratitude, with one of them, Mrs. Bello Rukayat, noting that the support came at a critical time.
“I really appreciate Omo-Ade Foundation for this gesture, especially now that everything is so expensive,” she said.
