In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu, described the President’s visit as “symbolic and historic,” expressing deep appreciation for his leadership and consistent support.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university’s remarkable achievements across multiple fronts, attributing its success to divine favour, the dedication of the university team, and the unflinching support of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society.
Key highlights of the University’s progress include:
Academic Expansion: Launch of eight new undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes under two new colleges — the Kola Balogun College of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engineering, and the College of Innovation and Computing Technology.
Accreditation Milestone: Full NUC re-accreditation of six undergraduate programmes.
Increased Enrolment: A fourfold growth in student intake following the university’s scholarship outreach to brilliant but indigent students nationwide.
Media Innovation: Establishment of Summit FM and TV, currently operating off-air pending NBC licensing, aimed at enhancing student training and university visibility.
Infrastructure Development: Ongoing and completed projects funded by prominent benefactors, including the AI & Digital Engineering College, ICT Lecture Theatre, and the soon-to-be-commissioned Accounting Technology Lab and College buildings.
Digital Transformation: A revamped transcript system that now processes within five minutes, alongside a solar-powered Digital Centre courtesy of NITDA.
Research Advancement: Over 40 training workshops conducted in 2025 alone and more than 8 competitive grants secured both nationally and internationally.
The University’s Leadership Presented Several Strategic Requests, including:
Facilitation of FM Radio licensing.
Support for legacy building donations in honour of Ansar-ud-Deen stalwarts.
Intervention to improve staff welfare to curb brain drain.
Establishment of a scholarship endowment for 200 Ansar-ud-Deen children annually.
Sponsorship of university publicity through traditional and new media.
Assistance in accessing ecological funds for erosion and drainage control.
In his response, Prince Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, FCArb., expressed profound joy and pride in the progress made by the University. He praised the Vice-Chancellor and his team for their passion, focus, and results-driven leadership, affirming that the institution was clearly on the path to becoming a leading Islamic faith-based university in Nigeria and beyond.
He pledged to:
Actively support the pursuit of FM Radio licensing for Summit FM.
Facilitate legacy projects by engaging the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Champion improved welfare for university staff through collaboration with stakeholders.
Endow an annual scholarship fund for Ansar-ud-Deen children.
Promote weekly publicity of Summit University activities and opportunities through Ansar-ud-Deen Mosques nationwide.
Support efforts to access ecological funding for erosion control and infrastructure protection.
Reaffirming his commitment, Prince Kazeem stated, “You have lit a flame here — a flame of knowledge, purpose, and faith. Together, we must keep it burning brighter.”
He encouraged students to aspire boldly and staff to remain committed, assuring them that their sacrifices will not go unrewarded.
Summit University, he said, is not only rising in physical structures but in its devotion to knowledge, excellence, and service to Allah and humanity.
