As preparations heighten across Ogun State for the upcoming Eid el-Kabir festivities, the Amotekun Corps has assured residents of a peaceful and secure celebration.
In a goodwill message to the people of the state, the Corps Commander of the Ogun State Amotekun, Brigadier General Adedigba, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring a safe environment throughout the festive season.
He described Eid el-Kabir as a time of deep spiritual reflection, marked by compassion, generosity, and togetherness.
“As we prepare to celebrate this joyous occasion, I sincerely hope this festive season brings happiness, unity, an abundance of blessings, and above all, a safe and secure environment to all residents and citizens of our dear State,” he stated.
Adedigba emphasized that the safety and security of Ogun communities remain a top priority. He disclosed that the Amotekun Corps, in collaboration with other security partners, will maintain visible presence across the state to provide surveillance and rapid response to any security concerns.
“The Amotekun Corps, along with our dedicated partners, will be actively present in our neighborhoods, ensuring a secure environment for our celebrations,” he said.
He also called on all citizens including community leaders, civil society groups, and volunteers to support the Corps’ efforts by staying vigilant and reporting suspicious activities. He urged the public to embrace the security-conscious mantra: “See something, say something.”
“Our lines will remain open, and our officers accessible and responsive to your needs. Let’s work together to ensure that every aspect of this occasion is enjoyed in safety and peace,” he assured.
Brig. Gen. Adedigba wished the people of Ogun State a peaceful and joyous celebration, encouraging them to uphold the values and traditions that make the state a vibrant and welcoming place.
