In a remarkable effort to bridge educational gaps and ignite the minds of young Nigerians, the Daramola Dynasty Foundation (DDF) marked this year’s Children’s Day with a transformative literacy outreach titled “Tools to Learn, Wings to Fly.” The event, held on May 30, 2025, brought renewed hope and opportunity to the students of Iyankan High School, Isara Remo.
Once a neglected and dusty space, the school’s library was reborn into a vibrant reading hub complete with newly furnished chairs, neatly arranged tables, and bookshelves filled with thoughtfully selected literature.
This transformation is more than aesthetic, it is a vital step toward nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity among the students.
By providing access to diverse and engaging literature, this space now becomes a place where learners can stretch their minds, deepen their understanding of the world, and build the intellectual confidence to dream beyond their environment.
A powerful moment during the outreach was the donation of a brand-new laptop. For students in underserved communities, tools like this create a gateway to the digital world and a future that no longer feels so far away.
The best part of the day came from the students themselves as they read aloud with boldness, spelt difficult words and asked lots of questions to increase their learning. The interactive literacy activities, spelling bees, and motivational talks created an atmosphere that motivated students to embrace learning beyond a classroom chore.
The event also shone a spotlight on excellence. High-performing students were recognized and awarded cash prizes in a segment that honored them for their discipline, resilience, and consistent effort.
Speaking on the impact of the event, Adedoyin Adeeso, Operations Manager at the Daramola Dynasty Foundation, shared:

Readers are better thinkers, better problem solvers, and more confident contributors to society. What we did today reflects our commitment to SDG 4—Quality Education. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Ikumapayi, captured the mood of the day with heartfelt words of gratitude.
“This for us went beyond the improvement in facilities,” she said. “It’s the kind of support that reminds our students they matter.
