The Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development in Ogun State, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, was today honoured with the prestigious Award of Excellence by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sports development and media collaboration in the state.
The award ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, where the Media Centre for the National Sports Festival is currently being hosted.
The accolade was presented by renowned veteran journalist, Mr. Kunle Solaja, amid applause and commendations from stakeholders in the sports and media sectors.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka attributed the recognition to the unwavering commitment and visionary leadership of the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.
“This recognition, presented by renowned veteran journalist Mr. Kunle Solaja is a reflection of the commitment and support of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON towards sports development and media engagement in Ogun State.
“I remain committed to strengthening the partnership between sports development and the media as well as advancing our sports sector under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON” Hon. Isiaka stated.
