Ayomikun stated this on Friday while speaking with News Channel on Yayi’s recently unveiled development blueprint, describing the agenda as a comprehensive framework designed to address critical sectors of the state’s economy and improve the wellbeing of residents.
Recall that Yayi unveiled the nine-pillar ITESIWAJU agenda on September 21, 2026, during an engagement with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ogun State. The agenda focuses on continuity in governance and development while outlining priorities across key sectors.
According to Ayomikun, “Yayi has the capacity to transform Ogun State with his ITESIWAJU Agenda because the programme covers virtually every major area required for sustainable development and economic growth.”
He explained that the acronym ITESIWAJU represents I — Infrastructure; T — Tourism and Culture; E — Economic Empowerment; S — Security and Welfare; I — Inclusive Growth and Well-being; W — Women, Youth and Poverty Eradication; A — Agriculture and Food Security; J — Job Creation and Industrialisation; and U — Urbanization and Transparency.
Ayomikun said the focus on infrastructure would be important to the development of Ogun, while the tourism and culture component could further promote the state’s cultural heritage and tourism potential.
He added that the economic empowerment, agriculture, job creation and industrialisation pillars could provide opportunities for youths, women, entrepreneurs and other residents, while the security and welfare component would address issues affecting the safety and wellbeing of citizens.
The Zee 1 for Yayi founder also emphasised the importance of continuity in governance, saying Ogun State should not abandon beneficial policies and projects whenever there is a change of administration.
“Ogun State deserves continuity. Yayi will continue from the good work Governor Dapo Abiodun has done and build on it. Development should not start afresh every time there is a change of administration,” Ayomikun said.
He further maintained that the ITESIWAJU agenda provides a platform for sustaining ongoing development while introducing new initiatives aimed at taking Ogun State forward.
