Oba Adediran made the remarks during Adeola’s visit to the palace of the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, HRM Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII, in Abeokuta on Friday, September 18, as part of his engagements with traditional institutions and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
During the visit, Senator Adeola was recognised as the Aare Bobatolu of Owu Kingdom, a title bestowed on him by the Olowu in recognition of his contributions and development efforts.
Speaking at the palace, the Towulade urged Adeola to prioritise the construction and completion of the proposed Aro Bridge linking Ita-Oshin Roundabout to Agbeloba in Abeokuta.
Oba Adediran explained that the project would provide a shorter route for residents and commuters travelling towards Ibara, Onikolobo and Ojere axis from Ita-Oshin, thereby reducing travel time and easing pressure on existing routes.
The monarch noted that Adeola had already commenced work in the area through the construction of the Olusegun Obasanjo Road linking Agbeloba to Oriyanrin, describing the intervention as an important step towards realising the larger Aro Bridge project.
“I want Yayi to be on history by constructing the Aro Bridge that comes from Ita-Oshin Roundabout to Agbeloba. He has already started the road by constructing the Olusegun Obasanjo Road, Agbeloba-Oriyanrin,” Oba Adediran said.
According to him, the completion of the Aro Bridge would significantly improve connectivity within Abeokuta and provide motorists with a more direct route to several parts of the metropolis.
The Towulade said the project had been in the pipeline for several years, noting that he had personally registered it at the Abeokuta North Local Government about five years ago after it was initially proposed roughly seven to eight years earlier.
He also praised Adeola’s leadership qualities, saying the senator had demonstrated confidence and a commitment to development.
“Yayi is confident, and I pray for more. He has integrity of heart. He has innovation to promote the rich ground of Ogun State, and he has the charisma to face the future challenges,” the monarch said.
The Towulade further said the Olowu and the Owu people would continue to support leaders who demonstrate commitment to human and community development.
“Olowu will always support the candidate who is hardworking, whose passion is for people development,” he added.
He also said he had personally observed Adeola’s capacity and commitment to public service, adding that his interventions had impacted the lives of many people.
Responding to the requests, Senator Adeola assured the traditional institution that he would give attention to the identified infrastructure needs.
He promised to undertake the Agura Road, complete the Aro Bridge project and work on the Akinale Road if elected governor.
Also speaking after the engagement, the Aare Lasa of Owu Kingdom, Alhaji Bakai Okedara, commended Senator Yayi for what he described as the good work he has been doing across Ogun State, particularly his interventions aimed at improving the lives of residents.
