The pensioners said two point seven five billion naira was released to pay outstanding gratuities to state pensioners, while four billion naira was released as additional pension benefits to eligible retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
State chairman of pensioners, Comrade waheed Oloyede, said the money will help reduce the hardship faced by retired workers, while praising Governor Abiodun for regular payment of monthly pensions and for his support for pensioners.
News Channel reports that the pensioners said the release of the funds has restored their hope and confidence in the state government.
