Ambassador Ibrahim, in a statement made available to journalists on Monday , described the development as a demonstration of responsive and compassionate leadership, noting that the affected communities had endured over a decade of darkness following the vandalisation of electricity infrastructure.
He praised Senator Adeola for matching his promise with immediate action after announcing during a recent consultative visit that he would personally fund the re-electrification project, which is expected to cost hundreds of millions of naira.
According to him, the release of funds to contractors signals the beginning of a new chapter for the benefiting communities.
“This is not just a political promise, it is a practical demonstration of leadership built on integrity and service. Senator Solomon Adeola has once again shown that he is a man who keeps his word. Releasing funds barely weeks after making the commitment speaks volumes about his sincerity,” Ambassador Ibrahim said.
The ZEE 1 For Yayi founder noted that access to electricity remains one of the most important drivers of economic growth, education, healthcare delivery and security, stressing that the project would significantly improve the quality of life of thousands of residents across Ogun Waterside and Ijebu East Local Government Areas.
“For over ten years, many of these communities have lived without electricity, limiting economic opportunities and affecting businesses, schools and healthcare services. This intervention will restore hope, revive local economies and improve the standard of living of our people,” he added.
Ambassador Ibrahim further stated that the initiative reflects Senator Adeola’s longstanding commitment to grassroots development and humanitarian service, describing the APC consensus governorship candidate as a leader who understands the needs of ordinary citizens and is willing to make personal sacrifices for their welfare.
He also applauded the senator for directing contractors to ensure the timely completion of the project, expressing confidence that the communities would soon begin to enjoy uninterrupted electricity supply. He urged residents to cooperate with contractors and safeguard the electrical infrastructure against vandalism.
“We equally appeal to community leaders, youth groups and residents to protect these facilities because this investment belongs to the people. Collective ownership and vigilance will ensure that history does not repeat itself,” Ambassador Ibrahim said.
