100 Residents Benefit as Engr. Oludotun Distributes Free Cooking Gas in Abeokuta

The Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Engr. (Hon.) Taiwo Oludotun, FNSE, has distributed 400 kilograms of cooking gas free of charge to residents of Abeokuta as part of efforts to cushion the effects of rising household energy costs.

The distribution, which took place at Kufo Cooking Gas in Abeokuta, benefited 100 residents, with each beneficiary receiving three kilograms of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to support their domestic cooking needs.

The initiative forms part of Oludotun's ongoing community intervention programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents and providing relief to vulnerable households amid prevailing economic challenges.

Speaking on the initiative, Engr. Oludotun, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government of the state reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that directly impact the lives of the people, noting that leadership should be reflected in service and practical interventions that improve the well-being of citizens.

He stressed the importance of encouraging the use of cleaner cooking energy while easing the financial burden on families struggling with the increasing cost of living.


In their separate remarks, beneficiaries of the programme expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. 

They said the free cooking gas would help reduce household expenses and commended the Commissioner for remembering the needs of ordinary citizens.
Some of the beneficiaries also offered prayers for Engr. Oludotun, asking for divine wisdom, strength, and good health as he continues to serve the state and carry out initiatives targeted at improving the lives of the people.
