Tinubu Records Landslide Victory in Abeokuta South APC Presidential Primary Exercise

The presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta South Local Government recorded an overwhelming endorsement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he secured 24,948 votes out of the 24,953 accredited voters across the council area.

Announcing the results on Saturday at the centinary hall Ake, Abeokuta, the Returning Officer for the presidential primary election in the Local Government, Dr. Samuel Odukoya, disclosed that the exercise was peacefully conducted across the 15 wards in the local government .

Addressing party officials, security agencies, and stakeholders after the collation of results, Odukoya said the election featured only one aspirant, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, “Distinguished Chairman, local government INEC representatives, civil defense, and other security operatives hereby present. My name is Dr. Samuel Odukoya. I am the returning officer for the presidential election primary for Abeokuta South Local Government.

“Abeokuta South Local Government is a metropolitan local government that has 15 political wards. Elections were conducted in all 15 local government areas with a sole aspirant, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

“Total number of accredited voters: 24,953. Total number of votes scored by the President: 24,948.

“I am not permitted to declare a winner here, the winner of the election will be declared in Abuja. But, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 24,948 votes—short of less than 10 of the accredited voters. He scored the majority, and I so return. Thank you very much.”
