NYCN Faults Arewa youth call On Abiodun, Mbah Impeachment, warns youths aganist manuplations

The National Youth Council has faulted the Arewa Youth Assembly for demanding the impeachment of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah respectively over issues within the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), describing the move as misplaced and counterproductive.

Speaking on the development on Monday, the National Vice President of the Council, Comrade Kehinde Olorunjubelo, stated that the youth groups should not be drawn into internal party matters that have no bearing on the welfare of young Nigerians.

Olorunjubelo added that Youths should not dabble into Progressive Governors' Forum politics, saying that they should not bastardize the youth constituency with politics influenced by the disgruntled elements .

He argued that the PGF is an internal APC structure with its own mechanisms for resolving disputes and that using the name of northern youths to advance partisan interests undermines the credibility of youth advocacy nation-wide

He urged young people to focus their energy on matters that directly affect their future.
"Youth should be involved in serious national issues rather than criticizing something that is not worth it",

He explained that the priority issues for Nigerian youths include unemployment, insecurity, education, and economic hardship - areas where coordinated advocacy can produce real change.

"Dragging youth groups into PGF disagreements distracts from these pressing challenges and reduces the youth constituency to a tool for political actors who lack the courage to fight their own battles."

He call on the youth organizations to remain independent, focused, and committed to holding leaders accountable on policies that impact young Nigerians, rather than allowing themselves to be used as proxies in intra-party battles.
