The milestone celebration, organized by the Egbado College Old Students’ Association, featured a high-profile fundraising event held at the Eko Hotel and Towers, Lagos, attracting prominent Nigerians from various sectors.
Speaking at the event, the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, emphasized the critical role of old students in supporting the growth and development of schools and colleges across Ogun State. He commended the alumni of Yewa Egbado College for their commitment to uplifting their alma mater.
The anniversary ceremony drew several notable guests, including Senator Iyabode Anisulowo, a distinguished alumnus and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Alhaja Sinat Ojikutu, Nigeria’s first elected female Deputy Governor; Professor Rahman Bello, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos; and top military officers, Captain Adewale Isola, among other prominent personalities.
Opening prayers were offered by Chief Mrs. Apampa, while goodwill messages were delivered by Professor Rahman Bello and other respected dignitaries who praised the institution’s legacy of discipline, leadership, and academic excellence.
A major highlight of the event was the launch of a ₦20 Billion Endowment Fund aimed at the upliftment and development of the historic institution, described as one of Nigeria’s iconic schools.
The initiative, led by the current executive council under the leadership of the Global President, Architect Olaniyi Dasaolu, witnessed an unprecedented fundraising outcome, with substantial billions of naira pledged toward infrastructure and development projects.
The one-week anniversary celebration commenced on February 4 with the fundraising ceremony in Lagos and is scheduled to run until February 15, 2027, featuring various activities to honor the school’s heritage and future aspirations.
