Hon. Tella, who represents Abeokuta North State Constituency in the Assembly, made the call
in a goodwill message to Muslim faithful as they commence the sacred month of fasting and prayer.
He described Ramadan as a significant period in the Islamic calendar that teaches discipline, sacrifice, compassion, and devotion to Almighty Allah, urging adherents to imbibe the virtues associated with the season.
The lawmaker noted that beyond abstaining from food and drink, Ramadan is a time for spiritual rebirth, moral cleansing, and strengthening bonds within families and communities.
Tella emphasized the need for Muslims to pray for peace, stability, and progress in Ogun State and Nigeria at large, stressing that collective prayers and righteous actions can positively impact society.
“ The current challenges facing the nation require unity, tolerance, and understanding among citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic differences”.
He also encouraged the faithful to extend love and charity to the less privileged, reminding them that supporting the vulnerable is one of the core teachings of Islam during Ramadan.
The Deputy Chief Whip urged religious leaders to continue preaching messages of harmony, mutual respect, and lawful conduct, especially among the youth.
Hon. Tella reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation of the people of Abeokuta North State Constituency, pledging to continue supporting policies and initiatives that promote development and social welfare.
He wished all Muslim faithful in Ogun State and across Nigeria a peaceful, rewarding, and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan.
