The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday at the project site, strategically located within Ogun State’s industrial corridor and approximately 3 kilometers from the Dangote Cement Plant.
The Company focused on industrial development and construction of a modern residential houses.
The foundation of the project was laid by the Olú of Imasayi, Oba Luqman Kuoye, who described the development as a significant milestone for the community.
Speaking at the event, the monarch reflected on the long-standing land dispute that once threatened the project, noting that peace was restored after his ascension to the throne.
“I inherited the dispute between the landowners and Chief Lawson, which had been ongoing since 2010. When I came on board in 2021, I was able to settle the rift between the family and the organization,” Oba Kuoye said.
He further clarified that the 142 hectares of land had already been purchased and acquired by Aspire Development before he became king, emphasizing his confidence in the credibility and vision of the project.
“We know Chief Lawson is an industrialized entrepreneur, and I am very sure that when everything starts here, it will bring development to Imasayi and our environment,” he stated.
The monarch also stated that the project’s potential is to stimulate economic growth and tackle unemployment within the community.
“With this type of initiative, the community must sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the developers. It should be mandatory for them to employ from this community ,both senior management and casual workers. This is very important,” he added.
Speaking on behalf of Aspire Development,the Managing Director
Mr. Adetunji Lawson said the decision to establish the project in Imasayi was influenced by the strong support from the host community and the area’s rich human capital.
“Why we chose Imasayi is the support we have received from the community. The community has been with us from the start. The location is also bountiful with human resources,” Lawson explained.
He revealed that the project will include industrial processing facilities, manufacturing plants, educational institutions, and residential housing, aimed at addressing housing deficits and boosting local development.
“What we want to do here is industrial processing, manufacturing, and residential development — bridging the housing gap. We believe this is a fantastic location to achieve that,” he said.
Lawson also stressed the importance of collaboration with government at all levels to ensure the success of the project.
“With strong collaboration with the government , local, state, and federal , we believe this project will have a positive impact on jobs ,” he said.
