The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday organised by the Councillor representing Ward 14 Imala-Idi emi ,Hon. Victor Olusola.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Olusola noted that many politicians make promises before assuming office but fail to deliver once elected, stressing that Hon. Tella has proven to be different.
“We have seen the good work of Prince Babatunde Tella. When he got to the Assembly, things changed in terms of enforcement and bills sponsored. Nobody has sponsored more bills than Prince Tella at the Ogun State House of Assembly,” Olusola said.
He added that although Hon. Tella has not formally declared his intention to seek a second term, the community considers it necessary to publicly express its support.
“Even though he has not informed us officially that he is going for a second term, we believe he deserves our support. As councillors at the grassroots, we are also doing our best to complement his efforts,” he added.
Hon. Olusola also expressed confidence in the future political direction of Ogun State, declaring his support for Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
“By God’s grace, come 2027, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) is our governor,” the councillor said, drawing applause from the gathering.
Also speaking, Former Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Ibikunle Bayowa, commended Hon. Olusola for his performance and described Hon. Tella as a responsive and people-oriented leader.
“Olusola has represented us very well. Prince Tella is a good man; whenever you call him, he answers. I urge everyone to come out en masse to vote,” Bayowa said.
Former Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon. Ayo Oluajo, said Hon. Tella has already earned the people’s trust through his achievements.
“Prince Tella has sold himself with the good work he has done and is still doing. He has empowered people across the constituency and executed projects such as boreholes,” Oluajo stated.
The APC Secretary in Abeokuta North, Alhaji Azeez Adedigba, called for unity among party members and community leaders.
“We must speak with one voice. Tella’s project is our project. Let us speak with one voice and support him,” he urged.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Abeokuta North Legislative Chamber, Hon. Moruf Erubami, described Tella as a performer who deserves another term.
“Prince Tella is a goal-getter. He has done so well, and we should support him for a second term,” Erubami said.
A prominent Oke-Ogun community leader, Chief Mukaila Oniyide, emphasized unity among the various blocs within the local government.
“We cannot do without Gbagura, Owu and Oke-Ona; we are partners. In Oke-Ogun, let there be unity. Prince Tella’s second term is very important to all of us. He has never disappointed us,” he declared.
Former councillor and community leader, Hon. Idowu Fakorede, commended Prince Babatunde Tella for his good work he has been doing at the state house of assembly.
He stated that people felt his impact immediately he assumed office as an assembly member. “Hon. Babatunde Tella has done wonderfully well and he deserves a second term in office “.
Fakorede also commended Hon. Olusola for grading the road leading to the community and urged continued cooperation at the ward level.
“I can see unity at the ward level. Please maintain it and cooperate with the leadership. Once there is cooperation, more good things will come to this ward,” Fakorede said.
Another ward leader, Mr. Akintade Samson, said Hon. Tella’s performance dates back to his time as Caretaker Chairman of the local government.
“Hon. Tella has done well and deserves a second term. He has been performing since his days as caretaker chairman,” he said.
