The project marks a major step towards addressing the community’s long-standing challenge of access to clean and potable water.
For several years, the people of Ijale Papa had faced severe water scarcity, relying on distant streams and hand-dug wells for their daily needs.
This situation often exposed them to waterborne diseases and health complications, especially among women and children. The new borehole, therefore, comes as a major relief to hundreds of households in the community .
While Speaking with News Channel on the project, Hon. Babatunde Tella explained that the initiative was part of his constituency development projects aimed at improving the living conditions of his constituents.
He noted that access to safe drinking water remains a basic necessity that government must continue to provide, particularly for rural dwellers.
He emphasized that his commitment to community development is driven by his belief that governance must be people-oriented.
“It is our responsibility as representatives of the people to identify their challenges and provide sustainable solutions. I am delighted that this borehole will serve the good people of Ijale Papa for years to come,” Tella said.

Oba Michael Babalola commended the lawmaker for his proactive leadership and responsiveness to the needs of his people.
He noted that the borehole project would go a long way in improving sanitation and reducing the burden on residents, especially women who used to trek long distances in search of water.
Community members, including youths and market women, could not hide their excitement as they gathered to celebrate the project’s completion. Some residents described the gesture as a “dream come true,” while others lauded Hon. Tella for fulfilling his campaign promises and bringing governance closer to the grassroots.
The commissioning of the borehole was attended by Traditional leaders,community leaders and party members.
The event ended with prayers of gratitude and renewed hope among the people of Ijale Papa, who now have access to safe and reliable water for the first time in many years.
