Led by the State Coordinator, Aare Commander Oluwafemi Akinrombi, the delegation embarked on a strategic courtesy visit from Thursday, 25th to Sunday, 28th September 2025, engaging youth councils, community leaders, and associations in Sagamu, Remo North, and other parts of the region.
The engagement began in Sagamu Local Government, where the CONYSSA team was warmly received by Comrade Yusuf Olatunji Adebayo, the Leader of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Sagamu Branch.
The delegation, which included Comrade Lekan Saka (State PRO), Comrade Sanusi Babatunde (Director of Campus Security Matters), Comrade Abimbola Elizabeth (Representative of the State Secretary), alongside Comrades Modupe and Temitope, discussed strategies to deepen partnerships among youth organizations and promote joint community security initiatives.
Continuing the tour, the team visited Comrade Akinnye Ayomide, the NYCN Leader for Remo North Local Government. Both bodies deliberated on youth empowerment, coordinated security awareness, and the need for synergy among local youth structures to enhance safety across communities.
On Saturday, the delegation met with the Executive of Idado Youth Association in Sagamu, led by Comrade Adedoyin Sonuga. The discussion centered on fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among youths while encouraging their active participation in security sensitization programs.
Aruba youth association leaders also led by Comrade Saka Olamilekan both President and PRO CONYSSA held a robust dialogue with local leaders on promoting grassroots safety and vigilance.
During the event, Prince Adebayo Adekoya was decorated as the second State Ambassador of CONYSSA Ogun State, following the earlier recognition of Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, the Ogun State Commissioner for Sports.
According to the Coordinator, the decoration recognizes Prince Adekoya’s leadership, commitment, and dedication to youth advancement, safety promotion, and community development.
As part of the outreach, CONYSSA Ogun unveiled plans for an upcoming program tagged “New Media, Safety and Security Awareness.”
The initiative aimed to tackle challenges arising from the digital space, including cyber threats, misinformation, online scams, cyberbullying, identity theft, and data privacy breaches.
With increasing internet penetration among Ogun youths, the program will focus on sensitizing young people on responsible online behavior, cyber safety, and digital citizenship.
In his remarks, Comrade Yusuf Olatunji Adebayo, NYCN Leader, Sagamu Branch, commended the initiative, pledging full support for collaborative efforts that will encourage youth participation in security and safety affairs.
He emphasized that “security and safety remain everyone’s responsibility,” urging more youths to be proactive in safeguarding their communities.
