The award, now in its 24th edition, will be formally conferred on Amb. Adeshina on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Abuja.
The recognition comes after a rigorous performance assessment which included field reports verification, public opinion polls, and nomination entries gathered through national newspapers, radio, and television.
According to the panel of judges and the nomination committee, the Obafemi Owode LG boss stood out for his outstanding achievements in grassroots development, particularly in the areas of roads and education.
The organizers commended his high sense of accountability, commitment to service delivery, and the positive impact of his administration on the lives of ordinary people in the local government and Nigeria at large.
Speaking on the significance of the award on Saturday , Reverend Endurance Omolere, a field officer of LOGMA, explained that the initiative was designed to spotlight chairmen with laudable achievements across the country.
He noted that Amb. Adesina, who had previously won the award in 2022 during his first term, was being recognized again for sustaining excellence and delivering dividends of democracy in his second term.
At the conferment ceremony, which will feature a national broadcast, mouthwatering prizes will be presented to awardees, including a star prize of a 10-seater bus for the national category winners.
The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour, while Senator Yaroe Binos Dauda, Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Affairs, will chair the occasion.
In his reaction, Amb. Adesina expressed gratitude for the honour, recalling that his first LOGMA recognition in 2022 motivated him to work harder for the people of Obafemi Owode.
He dedicated the latest award to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, whom he described as his leader and mentor.
“I want to believe that when I first received this award in 2022, I felt very honoured , that’s why I put more effort into giving back the dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of our local government.
“I dedicate this award to Governor Dapo Abiodun, who has been my mentor and gave me the opportunity to serve for a second term,” he said.
The chairman also appreciated political leaders, stakeholders, and the good people of Obafemi Owode Local Government for their unwavering support, promising to continue policies and programmes that will further uplift the grassroots.
