2025 International Youth Day: Ogun NUJ Consolidated Chapel To Hosts Segun Sowunmi, NDLEA Commander

The Consolidated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State, will on Monday, August 11, 2025, host a special programme to mark the 2025 International Youth Day, featuring prominent voices in governance and public service.

Director of a leading socio-political organisation, The Alternative, Chief Segun Sowunmi, will deliver the keynote address on the theme “Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future.”

Known for his thought-provoking ideas and advocacy for inclusive governance, Sowunmi is expected to share deep insights on harnessing youth potential for national growth.

The event will also feature a stimulating panel session designed to engage participants in critical discussions on leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic responsibility.

Chairman Planning Committee for the event, Rafiu Alarape said the youth from diverse backgrounds, including students from higher institutions, are expected to grace the occasion.

Adding to the lineup, Alarape said is the guest speaker, Commander Tijani Rabe, the Ogun State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Rabe is expected to speak on the intersection of youth development, security, and the fight against drug abuse, a pressing concern in building a productive future generation.

The Correspondent Chapel says the programme promises to be a platform for idea exchange, mentorship, and networking, aimed at empowering young Nigerians to take bold steps toward shaping a sustainable future for themselves and the nation.
