The solemn event drew a distinguished array of personalities from across Ogun State, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, Chairman of Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) Hon. Babtunde Osibodu, Alhaji Bakai Okedara, Princess Ogunremi, Hon. Akeem Amosun among others.
Also in attendance were the Leader of the House in Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Moruf Erubami, Deputy leader of the house Hon. Waheed Akomolafe, Hon. Luqman Adeogun, Councillor representing Ward 16, Hon. Kunle Afolabi, Councillor representing Ward 9, alongside other Honourable Councillors and eminent personalities from within and beyond the local government.
The spiritual highlight of the occasion was the sermon delivered by the Chief Imam of Gbagura, Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, who urged the family to preserve the legacies of the deceased.
He emphasized that all that was well-organized during her lifetime must not be allowed to fall apart after her passing.
The Imam also advised that any perceived shortcomings in family unity or organization should be promptly addressed to honour her memory.
Guests were spiritually uplifted with renditions by renowned Islamic musician, Alhaji Wasiu Sodiq (popularly known as Baba n waka), who added a melodic touch to the prayer session.
In his vote of thanks, Barrister Habeeb Ajayi expressed deep gratitude to all dignitaries, clerics, colleagues, and attendees for their support.
“I appreciate the Chief Imam and all the other Imams present. I thank everyone for honouring us with your presence. I am also grateful to God that I was able to do what little I could for my mother,” he said emotionally.
