The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to celebrate the former Governor of Ogun State and elder statesman, Chief Olusegun Osoba, his 86th birthday.
In a goodwill message issued to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday , Alhaja Faidat described Chief Osoba as a rare political icon, a journalist of repute, and a pillar of progressive politics in Nigeria.
She praised his immense contributions to democracy, good governance, and the development of Ogun State and the nation at large.
According to her, Chief Osoba’s legacy as a visionary leader continues to inspire many, particularly within the APC.
“Chief Osoba is not only a father to all but also a beacon of hope and strength for progressive forces across the country.
“His achievements as a former governor and his role in the formation and sustenance of the APC are enough to earn him the reverence he enjoys today.”
Alhaja Faidat highlighted the celebrant’s outstanding career in journalism, saying that Chief Osoba’s integrity and professionalism as a media practitioner set a standard for the younger generation. She said his life is a shining example of dedication, selflessness, and service to humanity.
She prayed for the continued good health, peace of mind, and longevity for the elder statesman, wishing him more fruitful years in service to God, the people, and the nation.
“As Baba clocks 86, we pray that God continues to preserve him for many more years, so we can keep drawing from his well of wisdom and experience,” she added.
Alhaja Faidat also called on younger politicians to emulate Chief Osoba’s virtues of humility, discipline, and patriotism.
She said the APC would remain strong and progressive by upholding the values the celebrant has championed over the years.
