2027: Group declares Senator Adeola Ogun West's sole governorship aspirant

...urges traditional rulers, others to rally support for him

A socio-political group in Ogun West,  Yewa Youth Pacesetter (YYP) has declared the senator representing Ogun West senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, as the "sole governorship aspirant" in the senatorial district, vowing to traverse the nook and cranny of Ogun West to market the senator's 2027 aspiration.

The group in a statement signed by its National President, Dapo Fasola, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Thursday, emphasized that the incumbent senator, through his sterling performance, popularity and acceptance across the state, has already proven and established himself to be considered as the "consensus" gubernatorial aspirant from the senatorial district.

It, however, called on traditional rulers, political office holders, stakeholders and other social-political groups in Ogun West,  to stay solidly behind Senator Adeola and work together to actualize the governorship aspiration in 2027.

Fasola noted that "Senator Adeola otherwise known as Yayi remains the best person who has the resources, capacity and tenacity to make Ogun West break the jinx of inability to produce governor since 1976".

He, however, urged all three members of the House of Representatives, members of the Ogun State Assembly, state executive members and other political office holders from Ogun West to rally support for Adeola, whom he described as a "God-sent liberator" to the people of Yewa-Awori.

Fasola, who observed that "the senator has totally changed the landscape and narrative of governance in Ogun West through his facilitation of developmental infrastructural projects", added that "the senatorial district has also witnessed a boom in socioeconomic and human capital development courtesy the quality representation by Yayi".

He said that while the group is not against anybody pursuing his or her political ambition, it will be politically wise for anyone nursing governorship ambition to shelve it and pitch tent with Adeola.

Fasola therefore appealed to the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, to rally other traditional rulers and people in the senatorial district in unity towards the realization of Yayi's governorship aspiration in 2027.

While expressing appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for espousing his administration's Renewed Hope Agenda to impact positively on the country, the National President, applauded Senator Adeola for his unrelenting efforts, dedication, zeal and passion to transform Ogun West with a view to achieving enviable socioeconomic and infrastructural development.

The group in the statement further reiterated that it will continue to support the senator in his quest to facilitate more developmental projects, mega empowerment, bursaries and scholarships to Ogun West.

It, however, submitted that it has begun to mobilize massive support for Yayi across Ogun State in his bid to succeed the incumbent governor come 2027.
