House of Assembly member representing Ifelodun Constituency II in Ijebu North Local Government Area Hon. Segun Kaka, has revealed that he has empowered over 500 widows and executed more than 300 projects within two years of his legislative service.
Hon. Kaka made this known during an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday.
He explained that the empowerment initiative was driven by a deep desire to uplift the less privileged and improve their standard of living.
He highlighted the unique challenges faced by widows, acknowledging the emotional and financial hardships that often follow the loss of a spouse.
“The pain a woman endures when she loses her husband cannot be overemphasised. They go through social, emotional, and financial trauma, all of which impact their livelihood,” he said.
“I am committed to supporting them in my own little way through the provision of cash gifts and clothing materials to help them navigate these difficult times. I want widows in my constituency to be celebrated and empowered .”
The lawmaker also dosclosed that part of his steawardship include support for less privilege, through health care support for over 200 people in Ago iwoye, oru, awa and ilaporu community in various Terminal and conditional diseases.
He said during the medical outreach, the residents were treated on various diseases raging from myomectomy, herniotomy, partial stroke , cataract , appendices, diabetes.
Hon. Kaka reaffirmed his commitment to delivering impactful representation and implementing people-focused initiatives aimed at improving the lives of his constituents.
