Soneye, in a statement in Abeokuta on Friday expressed optimism that the special day would bring renewed strength, healing, and prosperity to the nation and to Muslims across the globe.
The lawmakers encouraged Muslims to live by the values of Islam by promoting service to humanity, education, love and communal relationship and harmony.
He urged Muslims to
celebrate with gratitude, share blessings, and remember one another in prayers.
Soneye sought for divine blessings of the sacred festival to fill the hearts with joy, peace, and Allah’s boundless mercy.
" As we commemorate the unwavering faith and devotion of Prophet Ibrahim, let us renew our trust in Allah.
" Let's remember the less privileged in the society and uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.
" May the Almighty Allah accept our acts of worship, comfort those in distress, and guide us all on the path of justice, mercy, and peace," he said.
