Speaking with newsmen on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Ethnic Affairs, Prince Hadi Sani, disclosed that the government is taking proactive steps to sustain peaceful coexistence and seamless operations in the sector.

Taking into consideration the peculiarity of the language barrier and adherence to road regulations related to the Arewa Community which constituted over 80% of the operators.
“We are widening stakeholder engagement to Ogun Central to sustain peaceful coexistence and seamless operation in the transport sector,” Hadi said.
He noted that a recent follow-up meeting was held at the headquarters of ROMO in Abeokuta with transport union leaders, Arewa Community Operators leadership from Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Obafemi Owode, and Odeda, among others, to collectively address the daily challenges faced by motorcycle operators to avert the reoccurrence of recent disagreement in the state.
Hadi commended the leadership of the Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organisation (ROMO), the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), and the Articulated Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) for their commitment to sanitizing the sector.
“We deeply appreciate the commitment of the leadership of ROMO, ACOMORAN, and AMORAN towards sanitizing the sector for better productivity, safety, and improved welfare.
“We have been able to achieve significant successes in our deliberation and are committed to addressing all pending issues in the process”.
