In a colorful display of community spirit, the Lalubu Street Association hosted a lively youth carnival on December 21st attracting a large crowd.
The event, held in Oke Ilewo, served as a platform for indigenes of the community to connect, celebrate the festive season, and discuss ways to address the community’s needs.
Speaking with newsmen at the event , the Chairman of the association, Comrade Olaniyi Sowemimo, highlighted the motivation behind the carnival.
He explained that the event was organized to unite the people of the community adding that the festival provided an opportunity to draw the attention of influential individuals to the challenges faced by the community and encourage them to support small businesses and other developmental efforts.
Comrade Olaniyi emphasized the importance of the carnival as a tool for fostering unity among the youth of Oke Ilewo saying that the gathering was designed to serve as a unifying force, bring the younger generation together to work collectively toward the community’s progress.
The chairman extended heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors who contributed to the success of the carnival. He expressed joy at the turnout and noted that such events are crucial for building a sense of belonging and shared responsibility among residents.
Comrade Olaniyi also commended the state government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun, for its efforts in youth empowerment and infrastructural development.
He praised the governor for fulfilling campaign promises, particularly in the areas of road rehabilitation and construction, which have positively impacted the community.
