World Teachers Day: Abeokuta North APC Chairman Urges Respect for Teachers

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government , Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, has called for greater respect and appreciation for teachers as the nation marked World Teachers' Day.

She disclosed this in a statement signed by her , and issued newsmen on Saturday.

She praised the tireless efforts of teachers in shaping the future of society and urged the community to recognize their invaluable contributions.

Alhaja Faidat highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in nation-building. 

She noted that teachers not only impart knowledge but also instill values, discipline, and a sense of responsibility in young learners, helping to create well-rounded individuals who contribute to national development.

"Teachers are the backbone of every society,without their dedication and commitment, the future of our children, and indeed our nation, would be uncertain. It is essential that we, as a community, recognize their sacrifices and respect their profession."

The APC Chairman  stress the importance of providing better working conditions for teachers, noting that many educators work under challenging circumstances. 

She advocated for increased support from both the government and private sector, including improved salaries, access to modern teaching tools, and continuous professional development.

She also called on parents and guardians to work closely with teachers to ensure the holistic development of their children. 

According to her, the responsibility of nurturing young minds is a collective effort that requires cooperation between families, educators, and society at large.

The APC chairman also reaffirmed her party's commitment to support Educational development in Ogun State. 

She emphasized that  APC remains focused on policies that promote education at all levels, ensuring that both teachers and students receive the support they need to succeed.

"Education is the bedrock of any progressive society, and as a party, we are committed to ensure that our teachers are well-equipped and motivated to deliver the best to our students".
