Ogun FRSC celebrates 2024 customer service week, laud officers resilience in service delivery

The Sector Commander , Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun Akinwunmi Fasakin, has emphasized the importance of customer service in ensuring road safety and public satisfaction, as the Corps joined the global celebration of the 2024 Customer Service Week. 

The event, themed "Above and Beyond," is being celebrated from October 7 to 11, 2024, marking the 37th year of international recognition of the essential role of customer service.

Reading the speech of the Corps Marshall , Shehu Mohammed, the FRSC boss highlighted that Customer Service Week is an annual international event that celebrates not only the importance of customer service but also the dedication of those who serve and support customers daily. 

He noted that the most successful businesses and organizations thrive on their commitment to customer satisfaction, which is crucial in a competitive market offering consumers various choices.

Fasakin further remarked that the theme for this year's celebration, "Above & Beyond," calls on organizations to exceed customer expectations despite the challenges many businesses face, including public sector organizations like the FRSC.

 The Sector Commander reflected on the effectiveness of FRSC's service delivery, acknowledging the Corps' position as Nigeria’s lead agency in road safety management and administration.

"Over the years, FRSC has worked tirelessly, paid detail attention to front-line service providers with a view to ensuring effective service delivery and improvement to our customers, this can be judged from our status as Lead Agency in Road Safety Management and Administration in Nigeria."

The Commander outlined the Corps' various stakeholders, including the Federal and State Governments, FRSC staff, road users, transportation unions, transport companies, service providers, and the general public. 

He emphasized the role of customer service in fostering goodwill, satisfaction, and loyalty, which in turn strengthens the positive image of any organization. 


In his goodwill message the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju applauded the FRSC's efforts and the positive role of journalism in promoting road safety.

 He expressed optimism that the achievements witnessed during the celebration would inspire further collaboration between journalists and the FRSC.

"The role journalists has played in ensuring safer roads and reducing accidents speaks volumes.

"I assure you that the Ogun NUJ will continue to support the FRSC, and we will soon commence town hall meetings involving critical stakeholders to contribute for a safer road network and a better community."
