A family source, Ade Adelakun, confirmed the monarch’s death on Sunday.
Adelakun described the deceased monarch as a humble, decent, and down-to-earth man.
"The late monarch cared for his subjects as well as the unity and progress of the state,” he said.
He also described the deceased monarch’s years of reign as remarkably eventful.
