Conditional Cash Transfer: Ogun begins enrollment of beneficiaries

The Ogun State government has begun the enrollment of the beneficiaries of the Federal government's renewed hope Conditional Cash Transfer across the 20 Local government areas in the State.

The Program Manager, Ogun State Cash Transfer Unit, Mrs Funmi Baker gave the confirmation while fielding questions from the newsmen during a spot assessment and supervision of the enrollment exercise to Ipara community in Remo north Local government area of the State.
Mrs Baker explained that the ongoing enrollment exercise in the State is the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer program (RH-CCT) which is in line with Renewed Hope agenda of the present administration, saying that the financial assistance was geared towards making a significant impact on the life of the beneficiaries which would in turn contribute to the wellbeing as well as resilience due to the hardship caused by the current economic reform in the country.

She noted that over 80,000 households will be benefiting from the ongoing exercise in 192 wards, 2681 communities across the 20 Local government areas of the State, saying that after the successful enrollment of benefitting households, each beneficiary would receive a sum of Twenty-five thousand naira per circle for three payment circles.

She further stated that the list used for the enrollment was generated by the National Cash Transfer office Abuja through the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating officers, saying that there was no form of bias in the selection process.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Morenike Sofade and Mrs Ogunsola Fathia appreciated the federal and state government, for fulfilling his promise on alleviating the suffering of the poor, in the society, promising to use the money judiciously.
