Ogun Lawmaker Tella Honoured for Promoting Gender Inclusive Governance

Hon. Dr. Tella Babatunde Opeolu has been honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by the AdvOKC Foundation in recognition of his support for the Gender Balance in Political and Public Offices Bill, 2026.

The recognition is a testament to his commitment to promoting inclusive governance, equal participation, and greater representation of women in political and public offices across Ogun State. His support for the Bill reflects his belief that governance is stronger and more representative when every segment of society has a meaningful opportunity to participate.

The certificate was presented by Mr. Habib Sheidu, Director of the AdvOKC Foundation, who commended Hon. Tella for his demonstrated commitment to advancing a more inclusive and participatory political environment.

Beyond this recognition, the honour also reinforces an important principle: the quality of representation we send to the House of Assembly matters. Constituents deserve representatives who are knowledgeable, committed, accessible, and capable of making meaningful contributions to legislation, policy formulation, and the development of their communities.
It is therefore important that we continue to send competent and impactful representatives to the House of Assembly representatives who will not merely occupy seats, but will actively participate, sponsor meaningful legislation, advocate for their constituents, and contribute to the overall development of Ogun State.

Hon. Dr. Tella Babatunde’s record of legislative engagement and his commitment to issues that affect the people have continued to distinguish him as a representative who understands the responsibility that comes with public office.

Against this background, his endorsement and mandate for a second term should come as no surprise. It is a reflection of confidence in his capacity, performance, and ability to continue providing effective representation.

The recognition by AdvOKC Foundation is yet another affirmation that competence, purposeful representation, and impactful leadership matter in choosing those who represent us.

Congratulations to Hon. Dr. Tella Babatunde Opeolu on this well deserved recognition.
