A former councillor representing Imala Ward 14 in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Mukaila Fagbenro, has commended the member representing Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi Owode Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Osoba, for his intervention in the ongoing rehabilitation of St. John Anglican Primary School, Imala.
Fagbenro made the commendation while inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation on Tuesday.
He described the rehabilitation project as a welcome development that would significantly improve the learning environment for pupils and teachers in the community, stressing that quality education requires a conducive environment.
According to him, the condition of the school before the intervention had become a source of concern to residents and stakeholders in the community. He said the ongoing rehabilitation was therefore a timely response to a longstanding need.
“I sincerely commend Hon. Olumide Osoba for coming to the aid of our people through the rehabilitation of St. John Anglican Primary School. This is the kind of intervention that makes a real difference in the lives of our children,” Fagbenro said.
The former councillor noted that government and elected representatives should continue to prioritise projects that directly affect ordinary citizens, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, roads and other basic infrastructure.
Fagbenro also expressed optimism that the completion of the project would restore the confidence of parents and pupils while providing teachers with a better environment to carry out their responsibilities.
He urged the community to take ownership of the facility and protect it against vandalism and neglect.
He appreciated Osoba for responding to the needs of the community, saying, “This intervention will not only benefit the pupils of today but will also contribute to the future development of Imala. We appreciate Hon. Olumide Osoba and hope that more communities will benefit from similar interventions.”
