Odewole made the call on Tuesday in his acceptance and appreciation speech following his nomination and appointment as the Acting Chairman of CCM Diaspora Affairs, describing the confidence reposed in him by members as both an honour and a significant responsibility.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership and entire membership of CCM for entrusting him with the responsibility, promising to deploy his position toward promoting unity and strengthening relationships among members of the movement in the diaspora.
According to him, the appointment should not be viewed merely as a title, but as a call to service and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and development of CCM.
“I am deeply honoured and grateful for the confidence you have placed in me. I accept this responsibility with humility, dedication and a sincere commitment to work for the progress of CCM,” he said.
Odewole emphasised the importance of love, peace and understanding, noting that a strong organisation could only be built when members were willing to accommodate their differences and work together toward common goals.
He said, “Love is what brings people together, peace is what allows us to work together, and understanding enables us to listen to one another and resolve issues with wisdom.”
The CCM Diaspora Affairs chairman also urged members to avoid allowing disagreements to degenerate into personal attacks, stressing that differences in opinions should be seen as opportunities for learning rather than sources of division.
He particularly called for greater discipline in the way members communicate with one another, insisting that respect must remain a guiding principle in all interactions within the movement.
“Every member of CCM deserves respect, whether senior or junior. Respect is not just about the titles we use for one another; it is demonstrated by our words, our tone, our responses and the way we treat each other,” Odewole stated.
He further cautioned members against insults, threats, belittling remarks and other forms of disrespect, urging them to conduct themselves with maturity and recognise the contributions of every member to the growth of the organisation.
While acknowledging the experience and sacrifices of senior members, Odewole said younger members must equally be valued and encouraged, stressing that age, position or title should never become an instrument for looking down on others.
He said his administration would remain committed to fairness, unity, development and peaceful communication, while working with all members who share the vision of building a stronger and more cohesive Central Coordinate Movement.
Odewole urged CCM members in the diaspora to make love, peace and respect the foundation of their relationships, declaring that the future of the movement depended on collective commitment and unity of purpose.
He added, “Let us put love first, let us put peace first, and let us put respect first. We are one movement, one community and one family working toward a greater future.”
The Acting Chairman thanked the entire CCM family for the confidence reposed in him and prayed for divine guidance, strength and continued progress for the movement.
Odewole, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Dimofeshy Multi Investment Limited, pledged to serve with humility and dedication as he takes on his new responsibility in CCM Diaspora Affairs.
