A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ogun State House of Assembly candidate for Abeokuta South Constituency II, Ademuyiwa Adeyemi, has declared that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, remains the candidate to beat ahead of the forthcoming Ogun State governorship election.
Adeyemi made the assertion while speaking with journalists on Thursday in Abeokuta.
He also reiterated his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents when elected into the Ogun State House of Assembly.
According to him, the senator’s impressive track record in public service, coupled with his grassroots connection and developmental initiatives, has positioned him as the leading contender in the race for the state’s top political office.
“Without any doubt, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola is the candidate to beat in the forthcoming governorship election. His achievements, leadership qualities, and commitment to the welfare of the people have distinguished him from other aspirants,” he said.
The assembly candidate noted that Yayi’s influence extends beyond political affiliations, stressing that many residents of Ogun State have continued to identify with his vision for inclusive governance and sustainable development.
He further explained that the senator’s numerous empowerment programmes, infrastructural interventions, and educational support initiatives have earned him widespread admiration among youths, women, and community leaders across the state.
“Yayi has consistently demonstrated capacity and compassion. The people can see the difference he has made in the lives of ordinary citizens, and that is why his support base continues to expand every day,” he added.
Adeyemi also commended the APC leadership and supporters for remaining united ahead of the election, noting that his own legislative ambition is driven by a desire to bring meaningful development and ensure the dividends of democracy are felt across Abeokuta South Constituency II.
While expressing optimism about the party’s chances, he called on eligible voters to support candidates with proven records of performance and integrity, emphasizing that Ogun State deserves leadership capable of accelerating development and economic growth.
“As we move closer to the election, our focus should be on competence, experience, and vision.
